By No Pepper
I did not know you the man
Yet I mourn as though my best friend had died
You stood for what is best in America
Pushing, training, fighting, laughing, caring
All for the greater cause and principles usually taken for granted
What you did shocked those that didn’t know you
but those that did expected it, supported it
You are truly, and always will be an inspiration
to those of us that are not worthy to stand in your shadow
My children will grow up, knowing a hero existed
A true hero, role model, great American
Selfless and giving, one who stayed his beliefs
I raise my Guinness to you Pat Tillman
And I open one for you and pour it into the ground
To honor you and what this great Nation is about.
Peace to you, our hero as we mourn our loss.
And peace to us, may we never forget your story,
And let the legend live on
